About Us
At Spring Grounds Farm, we have around 100 sheep grazing the land. James will look after you during your time here and is the farm owner. He has tended to the land for 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge about the local area.

Please be aware that this is a working farm, so you may see James tending to the sheep, or harvesting hay in the Summer. Whilst we will be extremely considerate of guests staying there may be the odd time where we must be on the land working.

At the bottom of the valley is the Cropredy train line, you will see the odd train passing in the distance and depending on wind conditions, hear them too. The M40 is a few miles behind us - so with a westerly wind - you may hear cars passing, however this is a rare occurrence and out of our control.
The Huts are extremely well insulated so this will not be an issue whilst inside or sleeping.
Lambing
If you visit us in Spring, you will get to experience the lambing season in full swing and witness the newborn lambs frolicking around the valley. The sheep are very friendly and harmless, so when exploring the land, feel free to interact with them and say hello. We just ask you close any gates you open when coming in/out of the fields.
Abundance of Wildlife
There is an abundance of wildlife on the farm. We have a natural spring which has developed into a pond, and is a great spot for bird watching. Soon there will be a nature trail around the edge of the land and we have a tree nursery at the bottom of the valley. Keep an eye out for Deer, Owls, Buzzards, Kestrels and lots more...
History of the land
Going back in time - the land is believed to be the site where the Battle of Cropredy 1644 took place. The fields have a natural Ridge and Furrow formation which may explain why this was chosen as the Battlefield. There are also said to be Roman Ruins dotted around the area so keep a look out whilst strolling the land.
