Surrounding Villages
Nearby are some lovely historic villages, Cropredy is a 15 minute walk from the site across the fields, and has 2 great pubs, a small shop and a cafe. Also Little Bourton, a 5 minute drive, has a pub and is a short walk over the valleys behind the site.
Cropredy Fairport Convention is a very popular music festival and occurs on 8th - 10th August 2024.
Burton Dassett Hills
Whether you are walking, flying a kite or just sitting in your car, the magnificent views from these hills are breathtaking. The site comprises a series of rugged hilltops affording spectacular views in all directions and Fox Covert, a small woodland with a surfaced footpath. A short drive from the site, and well worth a visit during your stay here.
Local Restaurants/Pubs
There are several good restaurants/takeaways/pubs in the local area. In Cropredy the 2 pubs are - The Brasenose Arms and The Red Lion - and cafe - The Mulberry Cafe which we highly recommend walking to for breakfast. Little Bourton has a pub - The Dirt House. A short drive from here are The Falcon Pub and The Castle at Edgehill which we also highly recommend for a scenic meal in the countryside. Banbury, 2 miles away has an abundance of takeaways, restaurants and riverside food venues. Personally we recommend PawPaw for Chinese takeaway, The Old Auctioneer for great pub grub, Q Fish for great fish & chips. Many places will deliver to the Farm if you contact them directly to order.
